Tyrone Power, Joan Blondell, Coleen Gray. An amoral carnival barker seeks top billing after joining a traveling circus where he seduces a mind reader and fortune teller in the hopes of learning her formerly show-stopping act. He eventually moves on to his own act as a clairvoyant preacher with the help of a grifting psychologist. Based on the novel Nightmare Alley by William Lindsay Gresham. Directed by Edmund Goulding. Special features include a new digital 4k restoration, a 2005 audio commentary featuring film historians James Ursini and Alain Silver, a new interview with critic Imogen Sara Smith, a new interviewer with performer and historian Todd Robbins, an interview from 2007 with actor Coleen Gray, an audio excerpt from a 1971 interview in which filmmaker Henry King discusses actor Tyrone Power, a trailer and an essay by film writer and screenwriter Kim Morgan. 1947/b&w/111 min/NR/fullscreen.
